Executive Committee contact information can be found here. ABOUT RWG Three years after the ratification of the 19th Amendment, the Pennsylvania Federation of Republican Women was formed in 1923 to effectively organize all Republican women in the state. PFRW was one of ten charter councils that organized the National Federation of Republican women in 1938 to encourage women's participation in the governing of our nation. Today, the NFRW has 100,000 members in 1,800 affiliate clubs in all 50 states including the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. PFRW acquired a headquarters in 1952 at 806 North Second Street, Harrisburg. The council still owns and staffs the headquarters, an achievement only one other state council in the nation shares. More than 100 local councils across PA comprise a statewide membership of over 4,000. The Capitol Hill Council of Republican Women was organized in 1984 and chartered as a local council by PFRW and NFRW on April 22, 1986. Today, we are recognized as the Republican Women in Government. Our membership consists of registered Republican women voters who work or have worked in government or government relations. RWG members come together as a collective force to provide access for Republican women, of all ethnicities and backgrounds, in the workings of the three branches of government….legislative, judicial, and administrative. As a Political Action Committee registered with the Department of State, RWG raises funds to support candidates; to advance women’s efforts to hone the skills needed to compete in the political process; and to ensure that the majority population, women, are not ignored in deliberations that affect them, their families, and their futures.
